Youth Voice Forum Planning Strategy Blog

Earlier this week we were delighted to have the co-chairs of the Youth Voice Forum meet in Kettering at Youth Employment UK’s office to review the achievements and successes of the Youth Voice Forum to date and consider its long-term strategic plan to ensure that Youth Voice continues to be heard in the work of the Youth Employment Group.

The purpose of the Youth Voice Forum is to gain young people’s perspectives and give them the opportunity to support the work of the Youth Employment Group by having an active role in influencing policy to ensure the needs of young people are being met.

The Youth Voice Forum is chaired by four people: Eilish Peters from Youth Employment UK, Angel Fletcher from Youth Futures Foundation, Charlotte Jeffreys from The Princes Trust, and Cristiana Orlando from IES.

In 2022 the Youth Voice Forum:

  • Engaged with 62 young people
  • Held 5 Youth Forums Sessions
  • The Youth Voice Forum has produced 5 Youth Voice Forum Blogs
  • Presented the insight back from discussions to the Youth Employment Group
  • Used the insight from the Youth Voice Forum sessions to inform DfE & DWP Policy Team

It was great to get together and plan the next steps on how we can best utilise the Youth Voice Forum to make it as beneficial as we can for young people. The Youth Voice Forum considered how it can increase the participation of young people, better engage the wider membership of the Youth Employment Group and have a more active voice in the work of the Youth Employment Group.
