Youth Employment UK putting young people at the heart of policy making

Last week Youth Employment UK (YEUK) took two young people to a meeting with DfE to discuss their careers education strategy plans.

Today we are taking 6 young people to give evidence at the Education, Skills and the Economy Sub-Committee on Careers advice, information and guidance.Rhi & Nyasha DfE

On Wednesday we have a number of young people attending the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Youth Employment to discuss the new Youth Obligation plans with the DWP.

Finally, on Thursday we are hosting the Apprenticeship Debate at the Apprenticeship 4 England Conference which will be feeding into the main conference later that day.

These events are just a glimpse of the work YEUK is doing to get young people heard by government, policy leaders and employers.

YEUK is now seen by key government departments and officials as an authority on Youth Voice. We are working closely with DWP the APPG and others to ensure young people are listened to and not just in a token way.

There of course is still much to do, at YEUK we believe that young people should be at the heart of policy and service design for those issues that affect them. We are working with our Organisation Members, Supporters, government and of course our young members and Ambassadors to strengthen Youth Voice and hope that those of you who take the time to read this email may look to support our work as we go from strength to strength.

Have a great week,

LJ
