Youth Employment UK 2023 Round Up & Christmas Update

As 2024 approaches, we’re taking the time to reflect on what 2023 looked like for Youth Employment UK.

2023 at a glance:

  • 4270 respondents to the 2023 Youth Voice Census, with over 15,000 views of the final report.
  • The launch of our new membership offer, including our Good Youth Employment Standards. Our expert HR support for early careers, driving best practice standards.
  • The successful pilot of our new Good Youth Employment Benchmark ready for all employers to assess their early careers practice in 2024.
  • Over 3 million views of our careers and skills website content.
  • A new skills and careers resource for home-schooled young people.
  • The launch of Youth Employment Week, which saw 58,182 opportunities shared, 18 Youth Friendly MPs sign up, and 1,550 Young Professional programme completions.
  • Two APPG report launches; “The impact of place based approaches to tackling youth unemployment” and “The impact of mental ill health on young people accessing the labour market and good quality work”
  • The launch of our Commission into Level 2/3 Pathways which will launch its reports and recommendations to government in February 2024.

Whilst we have much to celebrate about our work in 2023 we have seen the culmination of challenges for young people and the wider sector grow, leaving us with much to do. We enter 2024 more needed than ever.

From all the team at Youth Employment UK, we’d like to thank you for your continued support throughout the year, and wish you a brilliant festive season.
