What Motivates Me!

Those new year’s resolutions you set seemed like ages ago, we can often start new tasks with big ideas and full of enthusiasm but it can be tough to keep motivated.

Motivation is that little spark inside of you that keeps you going,  it can be seen as a reward at the end of a task. People are motivated by different things doing a good job, ticking the ‘done’ column, money or maybe making a difference to the world.

It doesn’t matter what it is that motivates you, what matters is that it helps you keep pushing forward and achieving.

We caught up with 3 of our Youth Ambassadors to see what keeps them going:

John Lawley shared his top three:

  1. A major motivation would be my children they make me want to succeed in life and make me want to get up in the morning. As long as I succeed then I know they would have a much better life than I’ve had growing up.
  2. Another Motivation would be making a difference and change to other individuals lives through Talent Match. I love the fact I’ve got the chance to help certain people like I’ve been helped and wouldn’t change what I do now for the world.
  3. The workplace at WVSC, I feel that everyone over at WVSC makes you feel welcome you’re not left out and never left to feel different. I feel this is a major one because at least you feel part of something good

My motivation for getting up is also taking my dog out, because if I’m a minute late – he will be jumping up at me and scratching my face telling me he wants his walk! – Anna Garcia

I would say that the one thing that gets me up and motivated in the morning is helping young adults on the programme through their journey on Talent Match, to see their progression day after day is one of many things that keeps me motivated. – Will Jones
