What are the happiest careers in the UK in 2022?

Young man smiling, thinking positively about his future and job prospects

Ever wondered which job you would be happy in? Indeed asked millions of employees about their careers and found out which sectors are the happiest. Discover which careers are ranked in the Top 10.

The pandemic has influenced lots of people to start thinking about their lives and what they really want for their future. It shouldn’t be surprising that a priority for many is to be happy.

Choosing careers we enjoy

Doing something that makes us happy tends to make us more productive and more successful. You can probably agree that when you have a task, a piece of homework for example, you feel a lot happier if you find it fun and you put more effort into producing a good piece of work.

When you are asked about what job you want to do in the future, you most likely make your decision based on your favourite hobbies and interests, and therefore choose a job you think you will be happy in. Careers take up a lot of our time and we will do them almost every day of the week, so why shouldn’t we choose something that we will actually enjoy?

The Work Happiness Score

Indeed has created something called the Work Happiness Score to understand how employees feel at work by asking them about topics such as their job satisfaction, fair pay, opportunities for growth, support etc. Over 5.5 million people have completed the happiness survey and it has helped Indeed find out what the 10 happiest careers are.
