Vacancy Detail :Converted from EMERGE Recycling – the original social enterprise was born in May 1998 – EMERGE 3Rs became a registered charity in 2009, its operating strands are all centred on sustainability.
With the waste hierarchy of the Real 3Rs (Reduce, Re-use, Recycle) at its heart, EMERGE repurposes reclaimed timber in Touch Wood collected by social enterprise ‘sister’ EMERGE Recycling, processing the wood for resale, or creating upcycled products. EMERGE 3Rs also runs the Greater Manchester operation of FareShare, redistributing in-date food, donated by supermarkets and other suppliers, to front line charities, community centres, schools and humanitarian initiatives across the city region. This food is primarily fresh produce with a short shelf life, which, prior to FareShare’s involvement, would have gone to waste.
The Role
As a warehouse operative you’ll be responsible in supporting the selection and and packaging of orders for customers, manual handling and working as a team member.
This opportunity includes 4 weeks of pre-employment training allowing you to learn the skills you will need to identify your future talent and unlock your potential within the workplace. Following on from this you will then complete 3 weeks of work experience to showcase your talents and what you have learnt from the course, get more familiar with the people in the company and the role, after which you will be offered a GUARANTEED INTERVIEW for a job role. During the 4 weeks of pre-employment training, you will be working towards a qualification in Customer Service along with improving your employability prospects, maths, English & digital skills, all of which are vital within any workplace and will help you feel well prepared for your work experience and the GUARANTEED INTERVIEW.
