About FareShare
FareShare is part of EMERGE 3Rs and is a national charity fighting food poverty by tackling food waste. They source food from food retailers and manufacturers, that is surplus to requirements and engage many volunteers to help re-distribute this to local Community Food Members (CFMs), that provide meals to vulnerable people. FareShare Greater Manchester (GM) regional centre based on New Smithfield Market has been run by EMERGE 3Rs since 2008.
The Role
The Warehouse Assistant role is vital to the work of FareShare GM, ensuring that the food delivered to our warehouse is correctly sorted, labelled and organised into orders placed by our charities and community groups. This role is perfect for someone who is looking for practical work experience in warehousing, logistics and customer service, all with the support of friendly experienced staff.
This opportunity includes 5 weeks of pre-employment training allowing you to learn the skills you will need to identify your future talent and unlock your potential within the workplace. Following on from this you will then complete 3 weeks of work experience to showcase your talents and what you have learnt from the course, get more familiar with the people in the company and the role, after which you will be offered a GUARANTEED INTERVIEW for a job role.
During the 5 weeks of pre-employment training, you will be working towards a qualification in Customer Service along with improving your employability prospects, maths, English & digital skills, all of which are vital within any workplace and will help you feel well prepared for your work experience and the GUARANTEED INTERVIEW.
