A bit about me

I am Amran and I am 22 years old. I have just completed my university journey. I am an individual  who wants to make a positive contribution to the improvement of the society we live in through my professional and personal life.

What inspired me to be a Youth Employment UK Youth Ambassador?

I feel like the statement above is my why for everything I do. So when I saw that Youth Employment UK are helping end youth unemployment and also providing  young people with resources to help reach their full potential, I thought I would love to be a part of this!

My involvement so far…

I have had so many opportunities such as talk on the Times radio about I feel as a 2021 graduate, talk about my future career plans with virtual classrooms as a part of national careers week to co-hosting an elections Q and A with a chance to speak to MPs.

How volunteering as a Youth Ambassador has helped me

It has made me very much confident. I feel like my voice and opinions are heard and considered which makes me feel important.

Advice I would give a young person who was unsure about volunteering

If you are looking to broaden your horizons, try something new which involves making a positive change or just have your voice heard. Youth Employment UK is the best place to be.

Try anything even though you have little interest or wouldn’t see yourself doing it. You don’t know until you try!

My future plans…

I’d love to get involved in public policy, which has been influenced by my time at Youth Employment UK.
