What you’ll be doing
Cyber Security skills are growing in importance in our connected world, and we need to make sure that all our future networks and services are secure. And that’s where this role comes in. On this apprenticeship, you’ll learn to be accountable for, and ensure security assurance is provided across the design and implementation of a wide range of projects on our Network.
You’ll be providing security advice around our products and making sure they are keeping customer information and data safe. Right at the beginning of projects, you’ll work closely with design teams, assessing and prioritising risks, ensuring security by design. Following an agile methodology, you’ll provide a consultancy-based service to colleagues around the business, alongside the wider security team. But it’s not just the start of projects, you’ll also be involved in proactively identifying improvements we can make, to make sure we’re always on top of any new security threats.
We aren’t expecting you to be an expert right away, so we’ll make sure you can learn the ropes from one our experienced colleagues. You’ll learn how to manage internal and external stakeholders, how things work in big businesses, as well as key security concepts and processes. We’ll be keeping you busy on a range of different projects at once, so it’s key you can prioritise and take initiative.

About the apprenticeship you’ll study for
As an Apprentice Cyber Security Consultant, you’ll study for a Level 6 apprenticeship, called Digital Technology Solutions – Cyber Security.
This is an apprenticeship degree course, meaning if you complete the course successfully, you’ll receive a BSc (Hon) degree from one of our university partners.
- The degree course runs for four years and is a work-based learning degree.
- You’ll spend a minimum of 20% of your time learning and studying.

Entry requirements
You’ll need to achieve 3 A- levels at grades BBC, as well as 5 GCSE grade 4-9 (C or above) including English language and Maths. Equivalent qualifications are accepted.
Because of the nature of the work, we do some of our software roles will require security clearance. Don’t worry, a member of the Early Careers Team will talk you through this
