About the opportunity
Have you ever wondered what your first payslip will include?
What is tax? What is national insurance? What are all these terms?
We are delighted to offer this moving on from school workshop where we will talk you through your first payslip, help you understand key terms and take questions about your first job.
Following this workshop, students will:
- Understand the key features of a payslip
- Explain different types of income deductions
- Calculate gross & net income
- Understand how the Government uses tax and National Insurance contributions to fund public services.
This workshop will be co delivered with our volunteers from the personal finance industry and you will be a chance to ask questions about a career in personal finance.
This is great for young people who want to understand more about their own personal finance to make informed decisions when they reach age 18.
Students will also get the opportunity to speak with a personal finance professional about their career path and seek advice and support on careers in the industry as part of the session.
