What training is available in Coventry?
All young people (19-29 years) can access a range of full and part time courses in specific job-related training here.
This will include access to training linked to the recruitment of jobs in key areas like care, construction and digital, where employers are recruiting in the region. Where training is linked directly to local jobs, trainees will still be able to access benefits.
You can head to the Coventry Job Shop
The Coventry Job Shop can support with finding the right training including construction related training with direct links to construction employers such HS2, Eurovia (City Centre redevelopment) and Buckingham Group (Coventry rail station masterplan), amongst others. We also have strong links to over 60 care employers and a wide range of employers from other sectors, with courses set up with a range of training providers to support you to get into work.

Training in construction
The Construction College Midlands is a CITB Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) providing construction training courses and qualifications to a defined and industry-agreed standard. You can find out more here.
There is a specialist retraining in construction available through our construction gateway programme. Unlock a better way ahead – Skills for Life
The Skills for Life campaign can be used to find training, support and advice to gain the skills you need for the job you want.
You’ll find free Level 3 courses, skills bootcamps, apprenticeships and so many more great opportunities for training. You can even complete your essential skills in Maths and English.

Progress Project
The project works with young people aged 15 to 24 who are NEET or at risk of NEET and helps them to overcome barriers to work and progress into a positive destination.
There are Progress Coaches across the county who work for a variety of local organisations, and offer up to 12 months of tailored, one-to-one support for young people to help build confidence, upskill, and find the right destination for them.
