Traineeship details

 

Working as part of a small team, the placement will offer realistic and diverse experience of working in a not-for-profit community arts venue.

The candidate will assist with a broad range of work, including:

  • Social media
  • Event room set-up
  • Venue maintenance
  • Event stewarding
  • Answering the phone
  • Creating newsletters and mail outs
  • Events research
  • Website updates
  • Stock check
  • Filing
  • Admin duties
  • Marketing support

 

Training to be provided

We deliver the skills and confidence that you need to be successful in securing long term employment and proving work readiness. Every successful candidate enrolled onto an IPS traineeship gains a place in the classroom (2 – 4 weeks) to be taught and develop new skills, followed by a guaranteed work placement (minimum 70 hours) in a career sector you wish to experience.

Skills covered include interview preparation, CV writing, confidence and teamwork building, functional skills for maths, English, and digital skills (plus much more). Their newly developed skills will then be put into practice and further developed by the company they are assigned to.

About traineeships

A traineeship is a course with work experience that gets you ready for work or an apprenticeship. It can last up to 12 months.
You can apply if you’re:

  • eligible to work in England
  • unemployed and have little or no work experience
  • aged 16 to 24 and qualified below Level 4

You’ll get:

  • a work experience placement
  • help with English and maths (if you need it)

You won’t be paid, but you may be given expenses for things like travel and meals.
