Technical Assistant Position with Element – Cheshire #CreateYourFuture

• Achieving and maintaining high standards of health and safety, relevant to Unit 3, including contractor inductions and supervision
• Principle Responsibilities for Handling and Preparation of Test Specimens
• Maintaining and managing stock of steel sections on site, including ordering and marking up
• Verification of incoming steel samples to ensure compliance with Hp / A and section size tolerances
• Supervise and co-ordinate with Shot-blasting contractor
• Liaise with fabricating contractors to ensure specimen preparation is timely and prioritized appropriately
• Supervise and co-ordinate with clients when on site to ensure their preparation conditions and Health and Safety responsibilities are met
• Liaising with and assisting the client, including contractors and third parties, during application of paint to test specimens
• Liaise and assist Technical Assistants to ensure tests are set up to clients requests and in a compliant and timely fashion
• Manage paint storage and disposal with designated waste contractor
• Instrumentation of test specimens and preparation of diagram showing positions and types of all instrumentation used
• Deputising for the Preparation of Test Reports
• The preparation of the report may also require the DFT readings to be carried out on the test specimen prior to and directly after the test
• Completion of internal systems using FIREMAN and any associated procedures designed for the effective operation of the department
• Assisting with preparation of samples with respect to application of roller applied primer
