What is the Youth Voice Census?
This national online survey is open from 31st March until the 5th June 2023. The Youth Voice Census is an annual survey run by Youth Employment UK. It acts as a temperature check of how young people feel; by giving them the chance to share how they feel about issues related to education, employment, training, work and where they live. Each year, the findings help to create a backbone of big data evidence for improving policy and youth support in the UK.
Why should your students and learners take part in the Youth Voice Census?
This is the largest annual survey of young people in the UK. Particularly after the disruption everyone in education has faced as a result of the pandemic, the young people in your networks will want to feel part of something communal and big that helps them voice their personal experiences in a safeguarded way.
In supporting your young people to take part in the Census, you can help them feel empowered and listened to. Findings are shared with partners across the sector and UK Government policy makers to ensure that young people leaving education are entering an employment landscape with a better understanding of their needs.
PLUS: The final annual report is available to all. Last year, over 60,000 people downloaded the Census to see what young people really think – and you can be one of them. The census report is an invaluable tool for understanding young people from a teaching perspective as well as a policy perspective.
