Supporting More Young People To #ThinkLogistics

Think Logistics and Youth Employment UK have launched a new digital partnership to help young people discover the range of exciting careers available in the logistics sector.

This new partnership sees Think Logistics as lead sponsor for the sector’s digital careers guides, hosted on the Youth Employment UK website. At a time when the sector is in need of young talent, this will reach the 250,000 young people searching for employment and education opportunities each month and support closing the skills shortage in the sector.

Bethany Windsor, Operations Manager for Career Ready and Think Logistics, says:

“Our partnership with Youth Employment UK represents a change in how the logistics sector engages young people. There’s never been a better time for young people to join the sector, the skills shortage represents an opportunity for young people to step into the profession and step up at pace. From fast-paced, well-paid direct entry roles to apprenticeships and degree apprenticeships, the sector is ever-evolving.”

Atim Arden, Head of Marketing at Youth Employment UK, says:

“Youth Employment UK is passionate about connecting young people with quality opportunities to explore the world of work, the skills they need and the many routes they can take to access work. We are delighted to welcome Think Logistics to the website and look forward to supporting more young people to #ThinkLogistics.”

About Think Logistics

Think Logistics promotes the logistics profession as a career of choice to secondary school, college and university students. In partnership with leading sector bodies and prominent logistics companies, students are immersed in the world of logistics through workshops, mentoring, work placements and more, provided by Think Logistics’ governing organisation, Career Ready.

By combining both in-school and online promotion of the sector, this partnership aims to encourage awareness of the breadth of the profession, the routes into the profession and encourage more young people to ‘think logistics’ as a career choice,

Career Ready

Career Ready is a UK-wide charity with a mission to help young people aged 11-18 kickstart rewarding futures. In partnership with employers and schools it provides young people with a range of workplace experiences and support, including paid internships, skills masterclasses, mentoring, insight sessions, and workplace visits.

Since taking Think Logistics workshops online in the summer term of 2021, over 400 young people have benefited from hearing from the sector’s young professionals, with 96% more aware of the entry routes into the profession.
