STEM-Up works with local residents in the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) More Developed area to help them gain new STEM, STEAM and Soft skills.
Be the best you can be with STEM-Up, a professional development programme that gives you access to the right training that you or your business need to grow.
You could be looking to learn new skills to help you nail that promotion, or be a business owner searching for the right courses to help your team develop.
Even if you don’t know what you need, STEM-Up helps aspiring individuals evaluate their skills gaps and find the right training courses to meet their needs.
Whether that be Level 1 soft skills to help you with your communication or degree-level technical skills in computer programming, STEM-Up offers a wide and varied selection of free learning programmes provided by a host of recommended educational partners and is part-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF).
How will STEM-UP benefit me?
The STEM-Up programme will help you:
- Assess your existing skills and identify your future requirements
- Create a personalised skills development action plan to achieve your goals
- Identify learning opportunities to help you or your business upskill
- Attend a series of learning programmes cost-free
- Review your post-STEM-Up learning progress and evaluate your development
How does STEM-UP work?
You will be partnered with a Skills Advisor from one of our STEM-Up partners.
They will help you identify and match your talent requirements and those of individuals within your business with the learning opportunities available through the STEM-Up partnership.
Depending on your training needs, you could participate in free learning provided by any of the STEM-Up partners including Aston University, Birmingham City University and Solihull College and University Centre.
Once you’ve completed your Skills Support provision, your personal Skills Advisor will help you assess your professional development in line with your goals and ambitions.
How much will it cost me?
There is no fee for using STEM-Up whether you are an individual or a business placing employees through the programme. We offer this service for free because it is part-funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), a governing body that aims to support skills development and employability.
