About the opportunity
Your goal will be to progress towards becoming a technologist with your own account working towards your ultimate goal of being a NPD manager at one of our sites in the UK.
You will have real responsibility on a daily basis and get a clear path for future career progression. Your journey will take in everything from understanding food trends and flavours, turning these ideas into product concepts and working closely with all departments to take them through to factory launch after which you get to see your products for sale on the supermarket shelves.
By the end of our training program, you’ll be perfectly equipped to champion product development throughout the business having experienced 3 exciting rotations in the following learning environments:
Rotation A – You will work as a graduate process technologist reporting into the Process Manager at our RTC Doncaster factory to learn the core skills required to launch a product.
Rotation B – You will work as a graduate concept technologist reporting into the NPD Manager but working primarily along side the site chef and culinary controller learning culinary recipe development training your creative and culinary skills and understanding the flow into concept development.
Rotation C – You will work as a graduate concept technologist reporting into the NPD Manager working in the concept team and linking closely into commercial and category. You will experience recipe development, product specification generation, artwork creation, understand technical requirements customer presentations, commercial awareness, category insight and technical awareness.
Personal Specification
- Degree in Food & Nutrition or equivalent – BSc (Hons)
- Industry experience in manufacturing / work placement is preferred but not essential
- True foody with vision
- Engaging personality that is able to connect and work well with others
- Confident approach to learning
- Good negotiation skills
- Great communicators with an ability to influence others
- Keen on detail
- Have a positive influence on others
- Highly computer literate
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Customer centric
