Why apply?
Successfully completing teacher training allows you to teach in a state primary school, secondary school, or further education institution.

Entry requirements
You’ll need:
- a degree
- grade 4 (C) or above in English and maths GCSEs
- grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE science if you want to teach primary
You will also need to:
- get a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate if you’re teaching students under 18
- apply for a visa if you need one
Wondering about funding?
You can check if you can get funding for teacher training and search by the subject/level you want to teach. There are bursary and scholarship options available for teacher training courses that lead to a Qualified Teacher Status, and you don’t have to pay them back. Explore tax-free bursaries and scholarships of between £10,000 and £30,000.
