Apprentices who have successfully completed their training can now use the Post-Apprenticeship Recognition Scheme (PARS). PARS is a new awards scheme that allows apprentices to use post-nominal letters to celebrate their achievements.
What are post-nominal letters?
Post-nominal letters are placed after your name to indicate an award or achievement. If you have a doctorate degree you might use the letters PhD after your name e.g. John Smith PhD.
Apprentices can apply for post-nominal letters for the following apprenticeship types:
- Certificate of Standard Apprenticeship (CSA)
- Certificate of Advanced Apprenticeship (CAA)
- Certificate of Higher Apprenticeship (CHA)
- Certificate of Graduate Apprenticeship (CGA)
How to get apprenticeship post-nominal letters
To be eligible for these post-nominal letters, apprentices must:
- have completed an apprenticeship in the UK on or after 1 January 2019
- be in possession of their official apprenticeship completion certificate
- have the support of their employer or an industry-linked sponsor
You can read the full guide to the Post-Apprenticeship Recognition Scheme and apply on the Association of Apprentices website.
