The youth unemployment challenge that has been exasperated by the covid pandemic has brought the two organisations together under one goal – to support more young people on their journey to work.
Through this partnership Youth Employment UK will support NCFE to be recognised as a key youth-friendly employer in the education and training sector, helping young people utilising the Youth Employment UK Careers Guides to see the depth and range of career opportunities in education and training. In addition NCFE will provide key support including content and resources that will add further value to the new Young Professional Programme launched by Youth Employment UK earlier this year.
The partnership will also see opportunities for collaboration across a number of policy areas. NCFE David Gallagher has supported the work of the APPG for Youth Employment and the Youth Employment Group, both groups led by Youth Employment UK.
Laura-Jane Rawlings, CEO of Youth Employment UK said “I am delighted that NCFE are working with us this year, I know they are committed to developing opportunities for young people and being part of the youth employment solution. Our partnership will see us bring more quality information and support to young people across the UK at a time when it was never more needed.”
David Gallagher, CEO of NCFE said “NCFE is thrilled to be working in partnership with Youth Employment UK. The impact of the pandemic on youth employment has been significant and it’s clear that focused and collaborative action is needed. We’re committed to playing our part in helping young people to succeed in their careers, despite the current economic and labour market context. For us, this is about enabling access to high-quality education, training and employability programmes, as well as providing tangible job and apprenticeship opportunities across our growing business. Our core purpose in promoting and advancing learning is centred around unlocking human potential and changing lives; in working with Youth Employment UK, we can make a real difference.”
