She continues to have a passion for organisational development and is currently setting the long-term strategy for talent, development and inclusion along with leading a team of HR professionals at Greencore Group, one of the UK’s largest food manufacturers.
Through her career she has been the architect of many award-winning apprenticeship, graduate and development programmes aimed at enabling young people to build a rewarding career in industry. She is known for her creativity, energy, and ability to work at pace. Her passion for inclusion and diversity has always been a feature of her work, and her move to join the board of Youth Employment UK further underpins her commitment to creating more inclusive workplaces for young people.
Why Did You Choose To Apply For A Non-Executive Director Role At Youth Employment UK?
Over the course of my career, I have sought to help young people understand the size, scale, and variety of opportunity in industry, specifically within Food & Drink. I understand the importance of creating the right environment for young people to thrive, and in creating supportive cultures in organizations. Breaking down barriers and misconceptions about young people has always been important to me. The work of Youth Employment UK attracts me as it seeks to influence, and positively impact these facets and much more. As an innovative and influential voice for young people, the insight they bring can help us all create more inclusive workplaces for young people.
What Is One Piece Of Advice You Would Give Your Younger Self?
I would say, be yourself, be the authentic you and everything else follows. I learnt that early on in my career; being yourself, and accepting of your strengths, owning your blind spots and showing people your passions make all the difference, you’ll shine brightest by being you.
