Youth Employment UK are delighted to welcome Dr Geoff Paul, Assistant Director of the University of Sunderland, as Non-Executive Director and Youth Employment UK Board member.
Dr Geoff Paul will take up his position with the organisation in March 2023, joining existing Board members: Stewart Segal, Sharon Blyfield OBE, Amy Caton and Patrick Cantellow.
About Dr Geoff Paul
Geoff has always had an interest in both the Charity Sector, Education and Restorative Justice.
In 2006, Geoff was invited to become a Trustee Board Director for Victims Support (London) and advised the Board of a range of specialist areas including governance, strategy, human resource management, policy development and financial probity accountability and transparency of the charity.
Geoff was also elected to the Finance Committee and was involved in collaborations with public and private organisations, NGOs, Charities, Local Authorities, Metropolitan Police Force and other stakeholders and associations. In 2008, Geoff was appointed as the Chair of Due Diligence Committee during the merger of the charity.
In 2009, whilst working at St Mary’s University Twickenham, Geoff developed and launched a MA Charity Management programme which offered formal expertise and qualifications to over 200 small/medium-sized charities.
In 2020, Geoff became a Trustee with Belong (Making Justice Happen) which works with young people in the criminal justice system to provide restorative justice and counselling services.
In 2019, Geoff was appointed to the Assistant Director (Academic) position with the University of Sunderland in London, based in Canary Wharf. The London campus has nearly 5,000 students studying across 26 programmes in Health/Social Care/Nursing, Business and Finance, Tourism/Events Management and a range of postgraduate programmes. His duties revolve around the management of over 70 academic staff and membership of several executive committees and boards.
