This is a great opportunity to beginning career within the administration support element to Operations and Maintenance. You will develop the skills to assist with day-to-day administrative duties in the London Operation and Maintenance Department related to communal and district heating schemes providing heating and hot water in London.
In this role, the O&M Admin Apprentice will work in the Planning Department for the London O&M Team. We have a fleet of 9000 Heat Interface Units (HIUs) which require two-yearly servicing. This means we need to service 4500 HIUs per year. An HIU typically located in the utility cupboard of an apartment and fulfils the same function as a combi-boiler, except it uses hot water as its heat source instead of gas.
Each service requires going through the process of booking an appointment with the resident of the apartment for an engineer to attend and perform the service. Thereafter, the engineer will submit their paperwork electronically.
The O&M Admin Apprentice will:
- Support the HIU Service Manager to get bookings made and to file service certificates
- You will use software tools such as Freshdesk, GoCanvas, SharePoint and the normal suite of office programs
Additional duties will include:
- Provide admin support to Operations Manager and Planners
- Answer O&M phone line in a polite and professional manager resolving any resident’s issues
- Run weekly/monthly reports
- Complete an improvement project for apprenticeship course
