“If you are someone looking to get the most out of a placement, then NOVUS is for you!
I joined the NOVUS programme through my university’s careers department early in second year, as I was eager to get a placement sorted for third year. From the very start, NOVUS have provided amazing resources, webinars and opportunities to help with the search for placements. From personal mentoring from industry professionals, to regular check-in emails and follow ups from Operations Manager Bethany Windsor, the support provided from the NOVUS team is unmatched.
If I’m honest, I had very limited knowledge of what a career in logistics would look like until joining the scheme…
The NOVUS Placement and Graduate fair, in particular, opened my eyes to all the different roles available within the industry. NOVUS have a great cohort of sponsors, all of whom offer amazing placement opportunities and internship experiences for members.
Another benefit of the NOVUS scheme is that the prestigious reputation of being a member often allows you to fast track some stages of recruitment when applying for opportunities with these sponsors!
My advice for any potential NOVUS students would be to grab this opportunity with both hands!
The scheme isn’t something you want to miss out on, as it provides an incredible foundation for a successful supply chain and logistics careers. It provides all members with a platform to be inquisitive and engage with guest speakers and other members, to help build rapport and a network of great professionals that you will carry with you for the rest of your career!
