The National College for Advanced Transport & Infrastructure has been established to provide highly skilled technicians, project managers and apprentices to lead the UK’s rail, transport and infrastructure sectors. We are dedicated to producing a new generation of highly skilled professionals to lead the UK’s future rail, transport and infrastructure workforce.
Relaunched in May 2021, we joined the University of Birmingham group and we have new leadership and an exciting and ambitious vision for the future. At state-of-the-art campuses in Birmingham and Doncaster, there will be an expanded curriculum. We are bringing on board new education partners and industry collaborators to provide a lifelong learning opportunity supported by railway, transport and infrastructure qualifications and competencies. As part of the University of Birmingham group, we will benefit from the University’s widely recognised rail expertise and sector partners to help tackle the UK skills gap.
Employers and industry groups are an integral part of our ecosystem; they will contribute to advisory groups and our learners’ experience. The College will not only provide much needed capacity in the training market, but our specialist focus and coordinated approach will ensure that key sectors, such as rail, have the right people with the right skills in the right place and time.
