On the 5th June, Youth Employment UK and the APPG for Youth Employment invited MPs to attend a drop-in session in parliament to understand how they can support young people and youth employment in their constituency.
The #YouthFriendlyMP campaign provides an excellent platform to recognise those MPs who support young people and to also help MPs understand what else they can do in their local area.
Each MP that attended was invited to sign the Youth Friendly MP Charter (an adaptation of the Youth Friendly Employer Charter) and got to meet with Youth Employment UK Ambassadors and talk about their work. MPs also heard about the work of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Youth Employment, which released its latest report on place based approaches to youth employment on the same day.
Youth Employment UK will be working closely with MPs that signed the Charter to provide advice and guidance to them across the next 12 months.
