We are delighted to share that our Founder and CEO, Laura-Jane Rawlings, will be recognised in this year’s New Year’s Honours list for her services to young people.
LJ is being awarded an MBE in recognition for her work and achievements through founding and leading Youth Employment UK.
Over 12 years LJ has continued to champion the need for young people to be central to the youth employment discussion and led so much activity that has made such a difference to so many. The work of Youth Employment UK continues to be much needed, with us now having a central role in creating services for young people, helping organisations to develop good youth employment practice and supporting local and national government policy, research and insights.
As a not-for-profit our 12-year existence is the culmination of so many partners, friends and supporters.
Laura-Jane Rawlings says:
I may have started Youth Employment UK but it’s the organisation it is today because of the people who support it, from young people to employers, policy makers, partners and of course the team. In our 12 years we have grown our impact, reach and expertise significantly, and are now considered as one of the leading youth employment experts.
Sadly our work is more important than ever as the youth employment challenge continues to grow, as does its complexity. My passion for championing young people and tackling youth unemployment has not wavered and I know the team and our network are ready to dig in even harder in 2024 to bring some positive change to a deeply challenging issue.”
Our thanks to all of you and our congratulations to our Chief Exec and Founder.
