TfL have a number of different Apprenticeship opportunities available, including roles in Transport Planning, Highways and Traffic, Tech & Data and a number of engineering roles within London Underground.
To apply for TfL’s Apprenticeship roles, you must have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s Grade A* – C or Grade 4 and above, including Maths and English Language (or equivalents) and be 18 years of age before the start date of the programme. (Please check the job description for specific schemes)
All TfL’s roles are based in London and offer a salary up to £19,815 per annum.
As a part of our fast-paced Technology & Data teams you’ll learn the skills required to support the teams that keep London moving. Our Digital Workplace Transformation team focus on providing TfL employees with the most appropriate and affordable tools for their work, while driving standardisation wherever possible, for efficient IT support and asset management. This includes desktop and mobile hardware, software and shared infrastructure, predominantly based on the latest Microsoft Windows, Office desktop tools, and Apple iOS mobile devices.
Our focus is in increasing collaboration, designing content, communications and increase personal productivity.. In practice this will mean that we determine the digital technology that enable teams to work flexibly and securely anywhere, across devices, this is vital to our shift to hybrid working following the pandemic. The Digital Workplace team is also about helping our people to maximise the use of those technologies, adapting to and exploiting changes in these technologies that can meet our objectives and maximise productivity.
We’ve already started on our Digital Workplace journey by upgrading desktops to Windows 10 and delivering the latest Microsoft Office 365. This year we’ll be upgrading mobile devices and communication solutions. Evolving our Digital Workplace is a journey of continuously improving capabilities to help users deliver increasing value to TfL over time.

What will I be doing?
Learn how the Digital Workplace and its services and products make up a key part of how Transport for London accomplishes its mission. As an apprentice, your development programme will be made up of 3 or more placement rotations. Our aim is to give you the skills and breadth of experience you need for your successful career. We also understand that everyone’s career is different, so every apprentice’s journey is unique.
