Ixion are part of Shaw Trust, one of the largest charities in the UK, and together they believe in fairness and equality and that everyone should have an opportunity for rewarding work.
We all need support when taking the next step in our career journey, and that’s why Ixion and Shaw Trust provide Inclusive Apprenticeships. An Inclusive Apprenticeship is your opportunity to earn while you learn in a real job.
To do this, Shaw Trust has a network of over 4,000 ‘Disability Confident’ employers in the UK who they work with to provide these apprenticeship opportunities.
Let’s take a closer look!
What are Inclusive Apprenticeships?
Inclusive Apprenticeships are flexible, bespoke programmes designed for those with recognised learning difficulties/disabilities. They ensure adjustments are made to make them accessible.
You can earn from a real job while you learn AND gain a qualification!
Also, vocational profiling is used to gather information about you. This means they can find the best possible match for your interests, aspirations and skills.
Who can do an Inclusive Apprenticeship?
They are designed for those with a current or historic Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), Learning Disability Assessment (LDA) or Statement of Educational Need (SEN).
You must be 16 or over.
Why do an Inclusive Apprenticeship?
During an apprenticeship, you will:
- Work with experienced staff
- Learn job-specific skills
- Develop soft skills
- Study with a college or training provider
- Get experience in a real job
- Be paid at least the apprenticeship minimum wage
