This is a great apprenticeship opportunity to gain insight into becoming a groundsperson/gardener and develop new skills by becoming a Groundspersn/Gardener Apprentice.
Anyone of any age can apply for this application as long as you are not currently in education. This role requires you to work 40hrs a week, the working pattern is to be confirmed and you will be paid £5.28 which is the apprentice rate, the luxury hotel you will be working at is located in a rural area so you will have to make sure you will be able to get there reliably every week, there is a possibility of accommodation on-site.
It is weekly pay, you are entitled to 5.6 weeks holiday and you will be assigned a mentor to help you settle into the role and get the most out of the apprenticeship. Upon successful completion, you will receive a Level 2 Apprenticeship standard in Horticulture.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve the grounds and gardens to the highest possible standardsGardening duties including; digging, forking, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, strimming, edging, pruning, leaf clearing, bed preparation and planting
- Keeping borders, thoroughfares and footpaths clear and free from weeds and litter at all times
- Pedestrian groundwork
- Border maintenance
- Using grounds and garden machinery and equipment within safety guidelines (cleaning and safely securing the same after each use)
- Safe use of pesticide
