Since February this year, YEUK has been working on a brand new free membership opportunity for all 16-24 year olds. Designed in partnership with young people and employers, the YEUK Young Professional Membership has been in BETA for 5 weeks, with over 200 young people taking part.
One young participant said – “The YEUK Young Professional has helped me to see myself in a different way, a more positive way. It has made me want to develop my skills further.”
The YEUK Young Professional Membership helps young people to recognise the skills needed to demonstrate professionalism, and provides a range of tools and resources to support the development of these skills. The YEUK Young Professional focuses on more than 12 core skills in areas such as Employability, Personal, and Technical development.
Become a Young Professional today
The Membership is open to all young people regardless of education, employment or experience, it compliments existing programmes and activities young people may already be involved with. Equally it recognises that some young people do not always have access to these opportunities, creating a fantastic opportunity for social mobility across the UK.
On the 30th of August, YEUK held a 2nd stakeholder meeting with a range of organisations from our network – Corporate employers joined education, careers and youth organisations to see first-hand the YEUK Young Professional Membership. Many organisations committed to support the development and promotion of the YEUK Young Professional.
157 Group, Affinity Sutton, CentrePoint, Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, DWP, Get My First Job, IFDS, World Skills, learndirect Plotr, Remploy, Slenky, Talent Match, The Passion Project, Transport for London, vInspried, and West Notts College are just some of the organisations that have pledged to support the development and promotion of the YEUK Young Professional.
We are now looking to launch formally at the end of September.
In advance of the launch we are providing our network the opportunity to attend a webinar to hear more about the YEUK Young Professional Membership, and to get involved before the big national launch.
The webinar will take place on the 8th of September at 3pm.
Laura-Jane Rawlings CEO of Youth Employment UK said: “I am really excited about the possibility and potential of the YEUK Young Professional, the feedback we have had so far exceeds our initial expectations and I am looking forward to working with more organisations to drive this forward together.”
