Need help to look for jobs or to complete applications and prepare for interviews? Here are some great options available to you in Youth Friendly South Somerset.

Yeovil 4 Work

Yeovil 4 Work is a voluntary programme run by YCC that provides support for unemployed people to aid them in looking for work. They will give you support in writing or updating your CV, looking for jobs, completing application forms, interview support and any other help they can. They run a Job Club on Friday mornings from 9.30am – 12.30pm at The GateWay.

Martock Job Club

The Martock Job Club is open from 10am – 1pm every Tuesday and Friday, offering free practical help and friendly advice to anyone of any age looking for work, training or volunteering opportunities or starting your own business. News of local job vacancies (including those not advertised elsewhere) are on display. You can use the computers and chat through your options.

Skill Up Somerset

Skill Up Somerset is great for young people who are looking for jobs.

You’ll find support with boosting your skills – like online courses you can go on. You’ll also find great info about traineeships and events like virtual careers fairs.

Skill Up Somerset also has its own jobs board for apprenticeships. You could find a local opportunity that’s perfect for you. With an apprenticeships, you’ll get paid AS WELL AS studying towards an industry-recognised qualification.

Jobcentre Plus

Jobcentre Plus can do a lot more for young people than you might think. As well as look for opportunities, you can upload your profile and CV to their own jobs board to have those jobs come to you. You can use Jobcentre Plus to find work experience, traineeships, apprenticeships, graduate schemes and all kinds of early careers. They can also help if you want to start up your own business. With quite a few options available, it’s worth speaking to your careers coach there.
