Explore this apprenticeship programme which opens the door to the racing industry and apply today!
This course is for 16-25 year olds who are interested in a career in racing. Following a successful interview you will embark on either a 12 or 18 week (the length of programme you are enrolled onto will be decided at interview and based on prior experience) programme where you’ll learn everything from horse riding to yard work.
After the 12 or 18 week* course we’ll find you a full time paid job in a working Horse Racing Yard where you can continue your training and begin an apprenticeship, working towards your Level 2 Diploma, fully supported by The British Racing School.
Course Requirements
No experience is necessary, but a good attitude is essential.
Successful applicants for the Foundation Course will be hard working, enthusiastic and keen to work in the racing industry. A certain level of fitness is required to work in a yard, so you will be given a fitness test as part of your interview.
Course Costs
Tuition is free for UK residents. Accommodation and meals for the duration of the course are provided at a cost of £850 for twelve and eighteen week courses and £375 for six week courses.
A £100 bond is also payable for each course, which is refundable at the end.
There is currently a bursary available to cover a percentage of this cost if the person comes from a household with a low income. Please contact Carol Bramhill or call 01638 675905 to seek advice or support regarding bursary eligibility.
