Young people have been among the hardest hit groups in the Covid-19 crisis, losing out on education and work, with strong negative impacts on their mental health, aspirations and prospects. As we emerge from the pandemic, it is essential that recovery has good and fair work for young people at its heart. We have a responsibility towards young people, to empower them to access work which supports healthy and fulfilling lives, and to help them move out of work which has a negative impact on their health and wellbeing.
Join us for the second event of the Better Quality Youth Employment Programme ‘Learning and Sharing’ network. In this session, we will be outlining the findings from the latest IES youth-centred research on young people’s views of good quality work and support, the quality of their experiences in work, and the impact of the pandemic. We will be joined by The Prince’s Trust who will be discussing research on the future of work for young people, and Youth Employment UK who will be sharing key insight from their latest Youth Voice Census.
We will also hear from young people themselves about their views of good work and their journeys into work and from a youth-friendly employer on what it means to create good quality job opportunities for young people.
