CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) is an organisation who strives to support the Construction Industry to ensure they have the right people, skills and training opportunities to support local and national construction demand.
The Construction Industry needs to recruit an extra 217,000 workers, across the UK, over the next 5 years to support the current skills gap. In the North East and Yorkshire & Humber, there will be a need to recruit people into construction in a variety of different trades, including Building & Joinery, Civil Engineering and Professional & Technical sectors.
With so many ways to enter a career in construction, it can be difficult to know where to start. We are offering a great opportunity for parents/carers & young people to fully understand what skills, knowledge and requirements you will need to secure a Job/ Apprenticeship in the construction Industry.
We have 3 Large companies, leaders in their trades who want to share their recruitment needs and show you the full potential of what a job in construction can lead too.
This opportunity is an invite for Parents/carers & students from across the North East, Yorkshire & Humber who want to learn more about the industry and who maybe considering a future in construction or who are just curious about the potential career paths & opportunities in this field.
Each of the Companies will offer 20 minutes of direct access to construction leaders and insightful exposure covering topics such as:
- Why you should consider a future in each trade and the essentials you need to know?
- What the industry is looking for from you?
- How to access Jobs, apprenticeships and work experience?
- Future pathways, Salaries & job security.
CITB will provide you with all the information you need to access apprenticeships and training opportunities in your local area and an opportunity to ask questions during this session too.
