About the opportunity

The Compliance Apprentice role will cover Compliance Monitoring, i.e. how we assess the business is complying with relevant regulatory requirements and rules, including testing and resulting compliance monitoring reporting to the business. In addition, we will arrange a rotation across the wider Compliance function, covering regulatory guidance, i.e. how we identify and manage regulatory change and compliance advisory, i.e. how we work with the business to assess and comply with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the delivery of compliance monitoring plans
• Maintain the compliance monitoring database and tracking actions through to completion
• Assisting and preparing with key compliance reporting
• You will rotate across the compliance division – spending time within regulatory engagement, Identifying and managing regulatory business changes
• Maintenance and update of regulatory risk assessment documents
• Building awareness and keeping up to date with key regulatory change (periodic reviews on industry standards, own research)

Requirements of the Job:

Job Knowledge:

• Microsoft Office knowledge with a particular focus on Excel (SharePoint advantageous, but can be developed in the role)
• Desire to understand compliance risk and regulation
• Desire to learn and improve standards/processes
• Inquisitive and questioning of what has been presented to them

Transferable skills required:

• Investigating trend and Interpreting data (Interest In big data beneficial, but not essential)
• Methodical and good attention to detail
• Independent research Including market research (analytical approach to research very beneficial)

Problem Solving:

• Interpret rules/principals apply into a practical business process and understanding the outcome they are looking for
• This role will lend Itself to a solution focused Individual, who likes looking at the bigger picture and how the smaller events Impact that.
