What you need to know
Over 13,000 volunteers will support the delivery of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games taking place from 28 July to 8 August 2022.
There will be opportunities at venues in Birmingham and across the West Midlands. Volunteering roles will many and varied. Majority of the roles will not require any previous experience.
The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games is the ‘Games for Everyone’. We’re looking for volunteers from every community across the West Midlands to represent our diverse region on the global stage.
Why volunteer?
Volunteering can help you gain confidence by giving you the chance to try something new and build a real sense of achievement. Help make a difference, meet new people, be part of a community, learn new skills, enhance your CV, take on a challenge and have fun.
Volunteers will:
- travel for free within the West Midlands
- receive free food and drink on the days that they have shifts
- get a unique Games uniform
Applications have now closed.
- 1 June 2021 – Applications open
- 17 August 2021 - Applications close
- September to December 2021 – Interviews at Volunteer selection centre
- January 2022 – Roles offered
- April 2022 – Training delivered
- June 2022 – Uniforms delivered
- June to July 2022 – Accreditation collected
- July 2022 – Games and shifts start
