Interested in learning more about the world of cloud computing – the hidden technology that underpins your favourite apps and website, as well as businesses of all shapes and sizes? Are you currently living in London, currently unemployed/working part time/on a zero hours contract, and not already in education? If so, this is the event for you! Please see below for full eligibility requirements before booking your ticket.

Join us at this FREE event on Thursday 28th September at Ancoris (WeWork), 123 Buckingham Palace Rd, London SW1W 9SH. Just a couple of minutes walk from Victoria station.

London Digital Jobs & Skills Hub is partnered with Google Cloud Premier Partner Ancoris for this explainer event designed to help you learn how you can access a career in Cloud Computing without the need to go to university.

At this event you will:

• Learn the basics of what Cloud Computing is, and what the day to day working life in a Cloud Computing role is like.
• Learn how you can access these entry level roles with no previous experience and without going to university, by completely free skills bootcamp courses, apprenticeship programmes, and other free training opportunities.
• Hear from people who have already completely one of these non-traditional training routes, and are now working in Cloud Computing. This session will help with debunking myths about the industry. You will also be able to ask questions.
• Hear from London Digital Jobs & Skills Hub about a wide range of training opportunities across Tech and Digital, not just in Cloud Computing.

This event starts at 11am, doors open at 10:30am. Please make sure you arrive in the main reception at the above address by 10:45am at the absolute latest so that everyone is able to start on time. Free complimentary lunch will be provided as part of this event, you will be asked about any dietary requirements or allergy information as part of the booking form.

This event is NOT a job fair or recruitment exercise, there will be no recruitment activity at this event. This is an information event designed to raise awareness of FREE training courses for unemployed and underemployed Londoners who don’t already have tech degrees and are looking to make their first steps into the industry. ELIGIBILITY:

In order to be eligible for the training opportunities discussed at this event you must meet all of the following requirements…

• You are currently unemployed OR you are employed part-time working for 16 hours or less per week OR you are employed on a zero hours contract.
• You are currently living in any of the 33 London boroughs.
• You must not already currently be in any form of education, and you must not already have a computer science degree.
• You must not already have a university degree relevant to the career you want to get into.
• You must have the right to work in the UK.

The funding provided to London Digital Jobs & Skills Hub is specifically allocated for helping people who meet the eligibility requirements listed above. If you do not meet these requirements, we are unable to help you and therefore this event probably isn’t worth your time. If you are aware that you do not meet these eligibility requirements, please do not book a ticket for this event. This event has limited capacity, and you would be taking away the opportunity to attend from somebody else who would be benefiting more from the event.

If you do not meet the above eligibility requirements but you wish to attend this event alongside somebody else who does meet the above eligibility, please email us at londonhub@generation.org to book your ticket. The person you are attending alongside will still need to book their ticket the normal way.
