Groundwork London works across London with 16-24 year olds who are NEET (not in Employment, Education or Training) and are looking for support getting into work, training or further education.
Groundwork London are running a exciting programme to support NEET (not in employment, education or training) 16–24-year-olds to access the training they need to move forward into employment, training or further education.
The programme is split into three forms of support: Accredited Training; One-to-one Support; and Assistance toward Employment/Education.
1) Accredited Training
Qualified tutors run structured sessions to help the learners to achieve accredited qualifications in various subjects/topics, including:
• English and Maths Functional Skills (Entry Level to Level 2)*
• Customer Service (Level 1)*
• Employability (Level 1)*
• Business Administration (Level 1)*
• Horticulture (Level 1)
*These sessions are currently being run via online platforms and we are supporting young people to get access to digital equipment if necessary.
2) One-to-one Support
Employment advisors help coach the young people referred to us in addressing any issues they may be facing and inspire them to engage and move forward with their career. 1-2-1 sessions occur at least once per week. Advisors gain an understanding of the specific aspirations of each young person and identify other training or up-skilling needs. Support includes help with CV writing, interview preparation, confidence building and any other form of tailored support needed.
3) Assistance toward Employment When the young person is ready to start looking for a job, they work with Groundwork London’s Employer Liaison team to identify suitable job opportunities across a variety of sectors and secure interviews. Groundwork London will facilitate referrals to direct job opportunities as well as supporting candidates to apply for apprenticeship programmes and other options. For those young people who do not wish to go into employment, Groundwork London advisers also support progressions into further training or education.
