2023 has been a big year for Youth Employment UK, and we want to share the brilliant work of our volunteer youth Ambassadors this year…
A BIG Thank You
We want to say a big thank you to ALL our Youth Ambassadors for their work and commitment this year, and their ongoing support of Youth Employment UK!
What did our youth Ambassadors do in 2023?
There have been so many events and activities this year that our youth ambassadors got involved with, so we’ve picked some key events to highlight:
- Youth Ambassadors spoke with civil servants from DfE and DWP in Your Voice, Your Say, Your Future sessions to influence policy makers by sharing their lived experience
- Supported an Engineering UK roundtable on apprenticeships
- Supported Westminster Education Forum events sharing their experience based on different elements of education and employment with educators, policy makers and politicians
- Presented a Youth Employment Collective webinar to employers on supporting and retaining neurodivergent employees
- Contributed to our results day webinar for young people by sharing their experiences and tips
- Shared experiences at Gatsby youth voice sessions to support their review, feeding into their report
- Supporting the Skills Roundtable by speaking about their experiences of learning skills in education
- Supporting our Women in STEM by sharing experiences for case studies of working in this industry. You can read about Ciara and Amelia.
- Kelsey, who works with BICSc, has lead a collobration with Youth Employment UK and The British Institute of Cleaning and Science for the creation of a Cleaning Industry Career Guide to bust myths and help young people learn about this area of work.
