Our TAPs Academy is in place to support our technical apprentices in their first 12 months. It’s a safe space to connect with other apprentices and technical experts in the wider business to make sure any gaps in knowledge or unanswered questions are discussed. Our aim is to develop the apprentices appreciation of Technical Services within the Sodexo business and show them the potential for growth within our Global company while feeling supported and connected. We can even help with college homework!

Technical Apprenticeships

The technical apprenticeship programme is in place to attract new engineering talent and develop a pool of skilled engineers and future managers. Recruits can do one of several qualifications, such as a three-year electrical programme or a maintenance and operations engineering technician apprenticeship, while also working at one of Sodexo’s client sites.

Francisco’s story

The Sodexo Grow Apprenticeship Programme recognises people with great potential who do well in their role and show glimpses of leadership capability. Our people managers can take part in a programme to give them chances to learn how to lead a team.

Giving a nationally recognized qualification at level 3 or level 5 the programme is available to all our people including existing new and aspiring managers.

The programme offers two levels:

Level 3 is designed for Sodexo colleagues who are in first line management roles and aspiring managers. The level 5 option is suitable for colleagues who are transitioning from first line management into roles with broader leadership.

It’s an example of two great programmes that offer young people real opportunities to develop at their own pace even if that is early on in their career, we spot the potential and create the right solutions to develop the best talent.

Emma Reason: Management Development Manager UK&I

At Sodexo we have over 50 trained coaches who are available to coach our team members.  Areas people like being coached on vary from increasing their self-confidence to preparing them for the next step in their career.

The coaching apprenticeship has been popular and we have 13 people who have graduated with a further 14 people currently undertaking their coaching qualifications due to graduate in the next 18 months.

The Coaching Professional Apprenticeship is a route to being able to empower you to find your own path.

Shamim Stokes: Head of Learning and Development

“The Sodexo Live! Academy is a great reminder of what it’s like to enter this amazing industry at the start of your career and think how unattainable things like fine dining and cooking for tens of thousands of people, including the Queen, at iconic events like Royal Ascot seem in those early days.

“We want to spread the word about the amazing experiences and opportunities available at Sodexo Live!, and we’re hoping that our chef academies will inspire the apprentices to pursue rewarding careers in the kitchen.”

Ben Dutson: Food Innovation Director, Sodexo Live!

Culinary Apprenticeships

The Sodexo Live! Academy with Raymond Blanc is a structured culinary programme that gives six apprentices the chance to achieve either a Commis Chef Level 2 or Level 3 Chef de Partie qualification.
