Skills you need to become a Digital Marketing Assistant
Being a Digital Marketing Assistant requires quite a few different skills, a mixture of analytical and practicable skills.
Useful skills to put in your CV:
Creativity: With this role, you have be creative as you will have to design adverts, graphics or to edit videos. All of there require an element of creativity to reach an outcome that is attention grabbing, fresh design and message and positivity about the business.
IT skills: One will need to have an understanding of computers, websites and applications. This role has heavy use of design suites, social media platforms and website builders. Having confident IT skills is an important asset for this role.
Media skills: Being able to create graphics and adverts in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator is an essential skill for this position as it will be a majority of your job role. You will also need the ability to edit video clips in Adobe Premier Pro or After Effects for the website, business partnerships or social media. This role also requires experience with website builders such as WordPress, while also having a knowledge of coding HTML, CSS and Javascript will be useful.
Social media skills: One will need to have knowledge and an understanding of how different social media platforms are used, the demographic they attract and how they run. The main social media platforms used are Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and X (Twitter).
Time Management: While working as part of a team with multiple projects at once, you will have to be good at managing time and projects to reach deadlines, while also achieving high quality work that matches the business’ values and message.
Problem Solving: This role also come with an element of problem solving, such as a website glitch, a broken link or new and fresh ideas for social media marketing for the business.
