Careers in Racing showcases the vast amount of jobs in the horseracing industry via apprenticeships, training and jobs. Horseracing is a great place to work! British Racing is the second largest spectator sport after football. With 59 racecourses throughout the UK from as high as Perth in Scotland, to as South West as Exeter! Racing takes place all year round. We’re talking about over 85,000 people in direct, indirect or associated employment of British Racing. We have a mix of opportunities so check them out with us.

In this episode, the focus is on Careersinracing’s Youth Collaboration Group (YCG). Sam Martin and Abby Beckett discuss the benefits of joining the group, what skills they have developed, what opportunities they have encountered and the highlights of their time in the group so far. Coming from a mix of backgrounds and with different interests in relation to the industry, the YCG play a key role in helping create Careersinracing’s marketing assets, digital content and much more.

Early careers with Careers in Racing
Depending on what stage you are in your career, there are many Early Career Programmes and training courses available. Training can take place at the British Racing School, National Horseracing College, The National Stud and Scottish Racing Academy. Careers in Racing also assist with work experience & the BHA Development Programme and Step on Track Programme.
The Careers in Racing team are on hand to give advice to anyone that wants to think about working in the sport. They provide a number of free courses year round including Experiential Days and Development Programmes. They also do "Explore Racing" Days across the country at various Racecourses and Racing Colleges. These special events are a chance to explore the diverse range of career opportunities which racing presents, as well as being a great taster experience if you don't know much about the sport!
