A Youth Employment UK Panel Debate
What does the future of careers education look like?
Careers education continues to be the hot topic.
Too often this debate happens with adults who have left school and who have a dim and distant memory of what they needed from careers education and what they actually got.
Youth Employment UK represents more than 10,000 young people across the UK. Many of our young members want to be part of tomorrow’s solutions and share their views with the adults making decisions about them.
Our 2015 parliamentary debate season kicks off with a debate on careers education, where we will be asking the big questions. Has the decision to abolish the careers service had an impact on youth unemployment? Are schools doing enough to ensure students are supported through transitions? And what does good practice look like?
We will be sharing the findings of our Careers Education Survey, hearing from the Department for Education after their recent review of careers policy, and with our panel and guests we shall debate the solutions for careers education.
