The Automation and DevOps Apprentice will report to the Solution Architecture and Delivery Manager and be responsible for developing, testing and implementing automation technology to assist the IS department and the business.
Main duties / Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities for automation in IS and in the business.
- Create automation for databases, systems, networks, applications, hardware and software.
- Identify bugs and quality issues in development, service or business processes.
- Install applications relevant to automation.
- Collaborate with other business units to understand how automation can improve workflow.
- Gather requirements from clients, customers or end-users to develop the best automation solutions.
- To assess new systems and technologies, evaluate, test and write proposals and reports.
- Manage and maintain existing automation products and code.
- To produce technical documentation for use within the department and user guides for the business to ensure the effective use of systems.
- To attend meetings with internal clients and external companies representing the department as and when required.
- To maintain confidentiality of data at all times and to follow Data Protection guidance and GMC and departmental policies and procedures.
- Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned from time to time.
About This Apprenticeship
Annual wage: £21,485.00
Working week: Shifts TBC. Between 8:00am-6:00pm, Monday to Friday. [Occasional paid evening and/or weekend work may be required.]
Total hours per week: 37.50
Expected duration: 18 months
