What is the highest level of apprenticeship you can do?

The highest level of apprenticeship you can do is Level 7.

Apprenticeships range from Level 2 to Level 7 and they are all equivalent to a type of qualification:

  • Level 2 (Intermediate Apprenticeship) – GCSE or equivilant
  • Level 3 (Advanced Apprenticeship) – A Level or equivilant
  • Level 4 & 5 (Higher Apprenticeship) – Foundation degree and above
  • Level 6 (Degree Apprenticeship) – Bachelor’s degree
  • Level 7 (Degree Apprenticeship) – Master’s degree

For example, the McDonald’s Degree Apprenticeship gives you training and a degree qualification in business, management and leadership. A lot of the people working in the swish headquarters of McDonald’s in the UK worked their way up from the restaurant floor. They started off wearing the uniform in the restaurants, and ended up making exciting design decisions about what the uniform and the restaurants should look like! You never know where an apprenticeship will take you in life… but you could go far.
