While working for Onsite Commercials you will be working as a Level 3 Heavy vehicle service and maintenance technician and undertake your apprenticeship training with Paragon Skills. You will be continuously developing your knowledge and skills while learning all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair.

Paragon Skills have a well-developed automotive academy with a multi-functioning workshop to undertake all aspects of servicing, repairs and diagnostics on a variety of light, commercial and heavy vehicles. We deliver high quality training programmes to learners across the South Coast by our experienced industry leading personal tutors. Your training will be a split combination between academy-based learning and at your workplace with your employer. Apprentices will be required to attend our Automotive Academy for 1 week every 6 weeks to undertake an intensive block release learning session to work towards their qualification and building their learning portfolio. Paragon Skills academy is located in Boscombe, Bournemouth (BH1 4NB) and successful candidates should ensure they can get here as well as their workplace.

As a Light Vehicle Apprentice, your day to day duties will include, but are not limited to;

• Assisting other technicians with vehicle maintenance, repairs and servicing
• Assisting with keeping the workshop clean and tidy
• Shadowing workplace mentor for a variety of tasks
• Develop and build hand skills
• Learning to maintain and repair customers vehicles
• Speaking with customers to ensure they are aware of work being carried out on their vehicle
• Take bookings, payments and other basic office administration, as required

Entry requirements

Essential:

• A passion for the Auto Sector
• Knowledge and/or a keen interest in Cars

• Maths GCSE C / 4 +

Training to be Provided

Paragon Skills is a leading national Apprenticeship training provider, supporting over 4,000 learners and 1,500 organisations. Paragon Skills has some of the highest success and achievement rates in the industry.

It has an Ofsted Grade 2 Good rating and an overall achievement rate of 71.4%, exceeding the national average of 65.6%. Using a blended approach, learners are always at the forefront of our priorities. All learners are assigned a Personal Tutor who will be their main point of contact.

This involves regular catch-ups, check-in emails and calls. Your employer will agree to give you 20% of your working hours solely towards your study.

This will give you every chance to achieve the highest grade possible! On completion of this 36 month apprenticeship you will have gained; Heavy vehicle service and maintenance technician (Level 3).
