About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the University of Oxford as an Apprentice Course Administrator in the Department of Politics & International Relations. This is a perfect time to join the department in this newly created role. The role is being created to assist the team in meeting its increased workload, and to enable it to further improve its service to the Department.

You will be located within the Courses Team in DPIR. The team manages all the department’s postgraduate courses and key aspects of our joint undergraduate courses alongside History, Philosophy and Economics.

You will assist the team with a wide variety of tasks across both undergraduate and postgraduate provision. This would include assisting with graduate applications, responding to offer holder enquiries, assisting with exam administration, dealing with lecture recording issues, providing communications support in relation to website updates or event organisation.

About the apprenticeship

As part of this role, you will undertake an Apprenticeship with Abingdon & Witney College, where you will complete the Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship.

For this apprenticeship, you will work at the Department of Politics & International Relations in Manor Road Building, Oxford OX1 3UQ. As part of your apprenticeship, you will be required to attend Abingdon & Witney College for a 10-day course, at all other times you will be based at Manor Road Building.

In total, it will take 18 months to complete all elements of the apprenticeship, with support from the Department, University, and College throughout.

About you

You will be passionate about starting your career in finance and excited about the opportunity of becoming an apprentice at the University of Oxford. You may be starting your career, or you may be looking for a career change.

To complete the level 3 apprenticeship you will need to evidence passes at 9-4 or A*-C in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent). Please note that the Training Provider is required to assess your current ability in maths and English as part of the application process, even if you already have your English and maths qualifications.

There are also government residency requirements for Apprenticeship funding which the Training Provider will be able to advise on.

You will receive 38 days’ annual leave inclusive of Bank Holiday and fixed closure dates, discounted travel, an excellent contributory pension scheme, and student discount. You will also be part of the University’s annual apprenticeship awards.
