YEUK are delighted to announce a new partnership relationship we have developed with Plotr. Plotr is a nor-for-profit organisation that is home to an interactive and intuitive online careers resource for young people.
Plotr is supported by the Cabinet Office and has support of many corporations in the UK who are keen to see that young people have access to improved careers information and inspiration. The Plotr team have created a game based website that young people can play to begin to explore different careers ideas and pathways.
The purpose is to tackle one of the biggest barriers young people face in not receiving adequate or inspirational careers support (something YEUK has been campaigning for since 2011!). The Plotr site offers this support using the latest technology and information available in today’s market place. The quality of information, advice and guidance available through Plotr is excellent. Schools, teaching staff and youth organisations will also be able to access free careers resources, lesson plans and inspiration to help develop their own careers programme in school.
More than that Plotr is all about partnership and joining up the dots which is something very close to the heart of YEUK.
The Plotr and YEUK partnership is particularly exciting for us as we will be working together on the e-Magazine to create even more brilliant careers content and inspiration, supporting our ambassadors with an extended range of activities and projects to work on and developing our campaigning and lobbying work across our range of members and the organisations that Plotr works with.
By developing a close working relationship with Plotr YEUK will be able to invest in strengthening our vision for a Youth Friendly UK.
In addition our very own CEO Laura-Jane Rawlings will take up a part-time role with Plotr to lead their schools and careers education strategy. LJ already had a dual role working in her own organisation InspireEducation and will now move across into the Plotr role. “Ensuring schools and young people have access to the best careers education and inspiration has always been my first ambition. YEUK was born out of my passion to see that happen. Taking up this role with Plotr will allow me to really help shape careers education for so many young people and I am very excited. I hope to work with all of the YEUK partners, members and supporters in this dual role and know that I and YEUK will be able to support even more young people because of this partnership.” said Laura-Jane
