Responsibilities of the role
- Carry out an apprenticeship in mobile and static plant operations while following a Hanson learning programme.
- Learning to operate Loading Shovel, as directed by Site Management, to a standard to which they become certificated in safe and proper manner
- Learning to operate mobile and static plant in a safe and proper manner.
- To undertake general maintenance works as required by Hanson.
- To undertake other duties within their scope in accordance with Site Management recommendations.
- Carry out all duties required on site in a safe manner having due regard for colleagues (being anyone engaged in working on site) visitors, members of the public and any other stakeholders within the vicinity of the site.
Skills / Experience
- Applicants will need to be 18 years or older
- Full driving licence
- Applications will be considered from those who have or are likely to obtain GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C or Grade 4 and above
- Good general education required as a large amount of health and safety regulations and Quarry Regulations are required to be understood and carried out
- To effectively learn to operate the plant loading shovel and other mobile plant to the standards required by company to be accredited to the MQPC level 2 NVQ
